Chocolate & Gold Drip Cake

Nearly 3 years of teaching these and still my favourite class!

You will learn how to split, fill, and mask your beautifully rich chocolate cake professionally, as well as finish it to a high standard (in the colour of your choice) with my new silky smooth buttercream recipe – a bit like Swiss Meringue without all the faff! You will make gold Chocolate Bark, little gold chocolate bars, bling up some seasonal fruit and learn how to make delicious chocolate roses from modelling chocolate, as well as the all important ‘Drip’ which we will make from a glossy chocolate glaze. You will finish it off with some fabulous ‘no deep fry’ donuts, which will be made in advance and you will of course take the recipe away, some edible glitter and of course some luxurious edible gold leaf.

This cake is another great example of a ‘quick celebration cake’ as it really can be thrown together in no time, so ideal for those who run cake businesses from home. We will discuss the many different options and themes this cake can take on and I promise you, once you start making these, you won’t want to stop!

Victoria’s Kitchen cake studio is just 20 minutes on the fast train from London, Waterloo. We are just a 7 minute taxi ride from Woking Train Station. There is also free onsite parking at the studio.

This was one of the earlier classes I took with Victoria (I am now officially an addict!). Like all of Victoria’s classes, the day was relaxed and fun. It was fantastic value as it taught me so much in one class; how to get lovely smooth edges with buttercream, how to make a really easy and effective chocolate drip, how to make quick chocolate decorations with mini-moulds and chocolate bark, how to make a simple rose with modelling chocolate, how to embellish with gold accents, and how to put it all together so it looks fab! Most importantly, it gave me the confidence to try out these new techniques at home and create show-stopping cakes in the blink of an eye for my friends and family!
