Description:

In this one-day class learn how to layer and create a stunning Buttercream Marble Cake with baking & buttercream expert, Marianne Stewart. You will learn how to make a sumptuous Swiss Meringue Buttercream, which is less sweet and has a silkier, smoother texture than English/American buttercream. Learn how to layer & mask your cake to a professional finish, how to achieve crisp sharp edges to your buttercream cake and how to achieve the perfect marble buttercream pattern. You will also create a matching marbled sail topper, and paint the cake & sail with edible gold for a luxurious finish!

 

Skills covered:

 

 

•      Marianne will give you the recipe for her signature chocolate cake; super moist and full of flavour.

•      You will make Swiss Meringue buttercream, creamy and silky but stable.

•      Layering & masking cakes for a perfectly even finish.

•      Creating super sharp edges on your buttercream cake; sharp edges are not just for fondant!

•      Special technique to create a beautiful marble finish with rugged edges for the side of your cake (Marianne can explain how to adapt this technique for if you want to fully cover your cake in the marble pattern)

•      Creating a marbled sail to top the cake

•      Painting the cake & sail with edible gold

•      You will leave with a 6” decorated cake and all the recipes used in the class.

 

 

 

Class Details

Level: All skill levels

Length of class: Approximately 5 hours with a 45 minute break for lunch

Price: £130 per person - contact Victoria to pay via two instalments

Class size: Maximum of 10 students

What do you need to bring:

A bite to eat for lunch, comfortable shoes & something to tie hair back.

Aprons are provided to use during the day and light refreshments will be served during the class.

  • You can pay via Paypal or credit/debit card by booking via this website on the individual classes listed.

  • If you prefer to pay directly, you can email Victoria on eat@victorias-kitchen.com and ask to pay via bank transfer, Victoria can then email you an invoice manually.

  • You can also pay via cheque if you prefer, by emailing Victoria to arrange. Cheques have to clear at least 10 days before the class takes place.

  • For classes over £100, instalment options are also available. Again just email Victoria to arrange.
