We are delighted that Dominique is coming back for two one days courses with us in September. You will cover so many skills on this class, and we are very excited to be hosting it.

Dominique’s wedding cakes and style are instantly recognisable, and we are thrilled that she is willing to share her secrets with our students. Poppy Pickering are proud to have been awarded NATIONAL Wedding Cake Designer of the Year, 2016 of the prestigious The Wedding Industry Awards along with Winner of the North East Wedding Awards for Best Wedding cake Designer 2016 and in 2018. They are regularly featured in many leading bridal publications and work alongside some of the Industry’s best wedding suppliers.

In this class you will learn how to decorate 6 mini cakes using a variety of techniques, make beautiful sugar flowers and cover with sharp edges. The repetition in this class will be so beneficial when you are doing these again at home. It’s going to be a stunning class and a must if you’re a local cake maker.

In this class you will learn how to decorate several mini cakes using a variety of techniques. You will learn how to make rosebuds, roses, mini flowers, bows, pearls, hand paint details, add glitter, leaves and create piping effects. We will ice dummy and real mini cakes. This is a one day course and at the end you will be able to take home your creations. We will create 6 mini cakes depending on experience.



  • In this class you will:

    • Ice real and dummy cakes perfecting sharp edges

    • Make a variety of sugar flowers

    • Make sugar bows and pearls

    • Hand paint, add glitter and pipe with Royal Icing

Class Details

Level: All skill levels

Length of class: Approximately 7hours each day with a short break for lunch.

Price: £185 – this can be split into two payments of £92.50 – just email me to pay via instalments.

Class size: Maximum of 10 students.

What do you need to bring:

Just a bite to eat for lunch each day and a notebook.

Aprons are provided to use during the course and light refreshments will be served each day.

  • If you prefer to pay directly, you can email Victoria on eat@victorias-kitchen.com and ask to pay via bank transfer, Victoria can then email you an invoice manually.

  • You can also pay via cheque if you prefer, by emailing Victoria to arrange. Cheques have to clear at least 10 days before the class takes place.

  • For classes over £100, instalment options are also available. Again just email Victoria to arrange.
